Tips for Travelling Sustainably

Throughout the Southern Way, we encourage you to think about the ways that you can make your trip more sustainable. There are some really simple things that you can do that not only help our environment but also help our local communities to thrive.

Carry a reusable coffee cup, water bottle, and food containers. This helps cut down on waste and also saves you money. You will easily find somewhere to fill up your water bottle and our water is delicious right out of the tap.

Hire an electric or hybrid vehicle. Our airports have a selection of electric and hybrid vehicles available to hire and there is a network of charging stations throughout the Southern Way. You can easily find them at charge net for most vehicles, or HERE if you have a Tesla.

Buy from roadside stalls. There are so many roadside stalls, selling everything from fruit and vegetables to honey, free-range eggs, and ice cream. Not only will you get the freshest produce possible, but you will also be supporting our local communities.

Donate to one of the many conservation trusts that helps support our native species. These organisations support everything from supplying native trees to plant, to weed and pest control, and protecting our native species and biodiversity.
