Food, Wine and Beer Festivals Tile Southern Way

Food, Wine and Beer Festivals

With fertile soils, a rich marine environment, Mediterranean-type climates, and world-class chefs, winemakers, and brewers, the Southern Way is an ideal destination with a food and beverage scene that is becoming a force to be reckoned with.

To showcase our incredible produce, be able to talk directly to the growers and makers, we are lucky to have a variety of festivals that incorporate the best of our wine, beer and food.

Eat.Taste.Central, held in Central Otago each September, is a month-long foodies delight where you can take your palate to somewhere it hasn't been before. Local cafés, restaurants and cellar doors collectively produce a 'Central Otago Regional Menu' and a range of events and experiences that celebrate the produce, people and flavours of the region.

Thousands of people flock to Bluff each May for the world-famous Bluff Oyster & Food Festival. Complementing the sumptuous Bluff Oyster is a variety of local seafood from smoked and grilled salmon, blue cod, paua (abalone) patties, creamed paua, fresh kina, seafood chowder, scallops, prawns, and delightful crayfish cheese rolls.

We all know that the Pinot Noir from the Southern Way region is arguably, the best in the country. Our Mediterranean-type climate and fertile soil provide the perfect conditions in which to grow grapes. Combine this with some of the best winemakers and we have got a winning combo.

Southland Beer, Wine and Food FestivalRipe Wanaka and the Clyde Wine and Food festival celebrate the amazing Central Otago wines and combined with food stalls and trucks all wrapped up with some entertainment.

In the Southern Way you will find award winning breweries and vibrant festivals including the annual Dunedin Craft Beer Festival and the Wanaka Beer Fest

Whether you're a wine enthusiast, a craft beer aficionado, or a dedicated food lover, the Southern Way has a festival that's perfect for you.
