Eat.Taste.Central, held in Central Otago each September, is a month-long foodies delight where you can take your palate to somewhere it hasn't been before. Local cafés, restaurants and cellar doors collectively produce a 'Central Otago Regional Menu' and a range of events and experiences that celebrate the produce, people and flavours of the region.
Thousands of people flock to Bluff each May for the world-famous Bluff Oyster & Food Festival. Complementing the sumptuous Bluff Oyster is a variety of local seafood from smoked and grilled salmon, blue cod, paua (abalone) patties, creamed paua, fresh kina, seafood chowder, scallops, prawns, and delightful crayfish cheese rolls.
We all know that the Pinot Noir from the Southern Way region is arguably, the best in the country. Our Mediterranean-type climate and fertile soil provide the perfect conditions in which to grow grapes. Combine this with some of the best winemakers and we have got a winning combo.
Southland Beer, Wine and Food Festival, Ripe Wanaka and the Clyde Wine and Food festival celebrate the amazing Central Otago wines and combined with food stalls and trucks all wrapped up with some entertainment.
